We originally met in New York City. David was managing a comedy venue and Joanna was working for a non-profit that rented the space. We like to remember the moment that David offered Joanna the “little green box” which was a technical support, but allowed us to interact directly after looking at each other from across the room. Although we loved our time in NYC, we have also had the opportunity to travel across the country mid-pandemic to the Seattle area, and then back to the East coast. During those transitionary months, we spent time in Wisconsin with David’s family and in Pennsylvania with Joanna’s.
We cherish those moments spent with our loved ones, and dream of expanding our family through adoption.
About Joanna
Joanna grew up in North Central PA and lived the ‘dream’ in New York City for 15 years. She has a strong drive for learning and a skill for adapting which led her to travel across the country not once, but twice! She now has the desire to settle in her home state closer to her family and the cities she loves. Joanna currently works as a Creative Art Therapist for all ages at her own private practice. She has previously worked in art museums and is interested in showing her own original artwork in her community.
Joanna is also really grounded in her spiritual practices. Studying theology in undergrad, she has explored many ways people seek meaning in their lives and search for God. Additionally, she enjoys jigsaw puzzles, spending time with her two dogs, and sitting on the terrace in the sunshine in the summer. When looking back on her own childhood, Joanna remembers a life filled with loving community centered around music. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing and is hoping to offer these types of experiences to a child one day.

About David
David grew up in Wisconsin Dells and completed his undergraduate in La Crosse, WI. He then moved to NYC and began a career in live entertainment. After a few years, he met Joanna and called the city home. After 15 years they made the decision to move to Seattle where he continued to work in corporate communication and live entertainment. He continues to do the same type of work now in Philadelphia. When he is not working on an event he loves time with the two dogs, reading, cooking, and seeking new adventures. Music is a big part of life and he is always thrilled to jam with other musicians. He loves being out with people, growing relationships, and making new ones.
