Our Story
Hi!
We are Dave and Jae and we have been together 15 years (married for 13 of those years). We met at a comedy club in NYC, where we met and lived for over a decade…laughter is an integral part of our family dynamic! Dave was the manager of the club and Jae an administrative assistant for an organization who rented the space weekly. After seeing one another repeatedly, we decided to hang out outside of work. We hit it off right away and have been together since! While we began our story in NYC, we relocated to the Seattle-area during the global pandemic for a bit of nature where we live with our two small senior dogs, London and Lukas, who love to cuddle and share their joy.
We are thrilled to be on this path toward adoption. We believe that the culture of openness and respect we have built in our relationship and home will be present as we confidently raise and love a child as he/she navigates the ever-changing world. We can’t wait to be a part of a child’s journey through this life.

Dave’s thoughts on Jae ~
Jae (or Joanna) has truly been one of my best friends. Her love of life has always given me hope and joy. Through her art therapy practice, she continues to guide and inspire others on their walk-through life and is a pillar to her community. She values family relationships above all and brings a warmth that nurtures our home and grows our spirits. I am so blessed to have her in my life and call her family.
Jae’s thoughts on Dave ~
David is one in a million. He understands commitment and is fantastic at listening, slowing down to enjoy life and offering an alternative perspective when in a pickle. He expands your mind with fun facts and is always up for exploring new things together. He is a kid and kid-person at heart, more than ready to offer love, time and experiences to a new little soul. Me and the dogs are grateful for his presence and thoughtfulness in our lives every single day.
Our Home Outside Seattle
Although we have only recently relocated to the PNW, we love being a part of the budding nature around us always in the Seattle area! We are located just outside of city proper, which is convenient when we want to see an art exhibit at the museum or paddle board on a beautiful lake. Our home has a sunny backyard (in the Summer!) where the dogs love to run around and we enjoy hosting friends for cook-outs and bonfires.
